Nutrition at Tiny Hands Childcare
At Tiny Hands Childcare, we believe that healthy eating is an important part of every child's growth, development and wellbeing. We provide nutritious, balanced meals and snacks throughout the day, giving children the energy they need to learn, play and thrive.
Our menus are carefully planned to include a variety of fresh fruits, vegetables, wholegrains and protein-rich foods, while encouraging children to explore new tastes and develop positive eating habits from an early age. Drinking water is available throughout the day, and milk is provided where appropriate.
We understand that every child is unique. We work closely with parents to accommodate dietary requirements, allergies, intolerances, cultural preferences and religious dietary needs, ensuring every child can enjoy mealtimes safely and confidently.
Mealtimes are relaxed, social occasions where children are encouraged to develop independence by feeding themselves, using age-appropriate cutlery and learning good table manners. We never force children to eat; instead, we gently encourage them to try new foods while respecting their individual appetites and preferences.
For babies, we follow each family's established feeding routine and work in partnership with parents when introducing weaning foods. All food preparation follows strict hygiene and food safety procedures.
Our aim is to create positive, enjoyable mealtime experiences that help children build a healthy relationship with food that will support them for years to come.
